A quiet reflection from Budva, Pessoa, and the voice within
We walked down from the fortress of Budva to the hidden beach of Mogren. In my bag was Always Astonished by Fernando Pessoa, a gift from Elsa during our last trip to Lisbon, bought in the world’s oldest bookstore.
In this book, where Pessoa and his heteronyms explore modernism in Portuguese literature, one line made me pause:
"I'm nothing. I'll always be nothing... Aside from that, I’ve got all the world’s dreams inside me."
Many people feel this way at important moments in life or work.
Without a title. Without a clear path. Without an idea of what they want to become.
But inside, they carry a world of dreams. Not emptiness, but unused potential.
As a career coach, I have seen that many do not come with answers. They come with unclear feelings, but with a small light inside.
Maybe you do not have a role yet. But you have a sense. A voice pulling you toward something else.
The question is: Are you listening?
If this reflection speaks to you, or if you're in a moment of uncertainty in your career, you're not alone. Feel free to explore more or reach out for a conversation.
